Microsoft got the attention of the tech world last Wednesday when it took another step in the Windows 8 launch process - and it's not at all like the Windows operating systems you've come to know over the past 25 years.
"Minimizing the power consumption of your PC while maximizing the responsiveness and utility (making it “fast and fluid”), is a significant engineering challenge." says Sharif Farag and Ben Srour, lead program managers on the Fundamentals and User Experience teams at Microsoft. The new operating system will reportedly increase energy efficiency in the operating system’s applications.
